Cat has advantage, but there are still fleas on her?

I just put my cat on advantage about a week ago. She was around outdoor cats on the weekend, and now she is by herself. I know that she probably got some from those cats, but how come the fleas are still alive a few days later? Can she still have fleas that are alive if they just dont bite her? I did notice that I couldn’t find any flea eggs though

Because fleas constantly are hatching out in your home. Carpet, couch
curtains etc. There are different stages in the flea’s life cycle and the only one that can be killed off by the Advantage is the adult that jumps on the cat. the egg and larval stages wont be affected by the medication because they are not directly exposed to it. It can take a while for the infestation in your home to subside. To hasten the process vacuum everyday not just the floor but furniture too (if possible throw away the bag after wards)
wash everything you can put in the washing machine. If your wish you can get a premise spray to spray under large pieces of furniture, and under cushions. Don’t waste your time with bombs since they go up and straight down again and don’t really cover areas you need to and they can often require you and the pets to vacate the house for a few hours or days.
