What are some good medium dogs (20-50 lbs) that won’t harrass my cat or laying hens?
My sister thinks I should get a corgi and train him to get my flock of 6 into their run when we are about to leave. I’m afraid a herding breed will try to heard my chickens even when they are supposed to be in he back yard and if hens are stressed they won’t lay well.
What breed rescues should I look at?
Your first step should be to look this up on google. It’s gunna help you a ton. I guarantee it. Look up non aggressive dogs.
I have 6 hens as well, and we own a west highland terrier and a dachshund. They are both wonderful with the chickens, and when the chickens get out, my dachshund walks around with them.
